The African Journal of Sustainable Agribusiness (AJSA) is the official academic journal of the Centre for Sustainable Agribusiness (CSA). AJSA is dedicated to publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed research that addresses the unique challenges and opportunities in Africa’s agribusiness sector. The journal seeks to advance knowledge, inform policy, and foster innovation to drive sustainability, resilience, and profitability across the agricultural value chain.

Scope and Focus of AJSA

AJSA accepts submissions that explore critical topics in sustainable agribusiness, including but not limited to:

Value chain optimization and market development.
Agribusiness sustainability and resource management.
Innovations in agro-processing and product development.
Financial models, risk management, and investment strategies in agribusiness.
Policy analysis and frameworks for sustainable agribusiness.

Publication Details and Submission Guidelines:

AJSA is published biannually, with issues released in June and December. Types of Papers accepted include Original Research Articles, Review Articles, Case Studies, Policy Briefs and Technical Notes.

Submission Guidelines:

Manuscripts should be submitted electronically via to [email protected].
Submissions must adhere to the journal’s formatting and citation guidelines, available on the official website.
All manuscripts will undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure quality and relevance.
Authors will receive feedback on their submissions within 2-4weeks, including detailed reviewer comments and recommendations for revisions if needed.

Annual Conference

The 2025 Sustainable Agribusiness Research Conference is an annual academic event hosted by the Centre for Sustainable Agribusiness (CSA). This year’s theme focuses on addressing contemporary issues in agribusiness, including climate resilience, equitable value chains, and the integration of innovations to make African agribusiness globally competitive.
The conference will bring together researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and students to explore solutions for transforming agribusiness in Africa.
